Mabank
Mabank, Texas, founded in 1900, is a town in Kaufman and Henderson counties originating from a merger of local agricultural communities when the Texas Trunk Railroad bypassed the original settlement of Lawndale. It was established by ranchers G.W. Mason and Thomas Eubank, who combined their names for the town, which grew rapidly as a rail hub before becoming a modern lakeside community. The creation of the Cedar Creek Reservoir significantly transformed the town, sparking growth as a popular recreational area.
