Frankston
Founded in January 1902 in northeastern Anderson County, Frankston, Texas, began as a railroad town at the intersection of U.S. Highway 175 and State Highway 155. Named after Miss Frankie Miller, who donated land for the town park, it grew as an agricultural hub for lumber, cotton, and tomatoes. The town was established when the Texas and New Orleans Railroad was built through the area. Built in 1906, the Frankston Depot connected local farmers to distant markets and served passengers from 1903 to 1964. It was restored in 1976 and is a recognized historical landmark.
